This book had me from the get go. That is saying something! I really do love the way Rebecca built the story right at the beginning. By dropping Candra off at relatives and then her folks just leaving her there without really saying why wouldn't have gone over too well in the excitement category for me. But add the fact of how Rebecca creates emotions with Candra's parents and a hint of mysterious looks and the "letter" Candra's mom leaves her. Well, that was a little intriguing to me so I kept reading. And I was not let down. The good looking mysterious guy who somewhat "claims" her is described in a way that would make even an older woman, like myself :), feel intrigued to know more. Of course the suspense starts to really climb and then all of a sudden (not really, but it sure felt that way while I was wrapped up in the story), the book ends and is to be continued. OF COURSE! LOL I can NOT wait for the next book!

If you are looking for a little suspense, mystery, magic and little werewolf, you will LOVE this series.

This is a slow to the start but gets to the point kind of book. You will root for Ben n Chandra to find the peace they need their families to find .a nd for them to grow closer.
The beginning was slow but I powered through it. Ok read and I will be reading the next book. I want to figure the rest of the book out. New take on wolves.
A definite twist on werewolves. Rebecca kept it old school. They change alright but not into a beautiful wolf - they grow hair, have glowing yellow eyes, extended sharp claws and of course fangs. Candra is sent away to live with her aunt and uncle and learn about her heritage...she's a werewolf. She gets tossed in the middle of a family war with the Conways and is forced to fight for her life. It doesn't help much that she falls for the enemy, Ben Conway. We follow her as she struggles to learn her place among the chaos. Great book and I've already placed Black Moon on my tbr list.
This book is an amazing start to this adrenaline filled series. Candra is one of the bravest girls I have ever read about. When she finds out the real reason she has been sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle she is stunned. I can't wait to see where the next leg of this amazing series is going to get. I can't wait to see what happens between her and Ben. With the personality Candra has it was obvious that she would fall in love with her enemy. Again an amazing start to a great series
I downloaded the first chapters for free and thought it had promise, so I bought the book. The story had a lot of action, mystery, and parts that held real promise, but in the end, was somewhat disappointing. This story reminds me of Dirty Blood and the The Fallen Star (Fallen Star Series Book 1) series, only not as good as they were.

Candra is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle when she becomes too much for her parents to handle. The new high school she attends is not very friendly and she is immediately accosted by two brothers, Cameron and Ethan. Their third and eldest brother, Benjamin saves her from their harm and is set up to be the very disappointing love interest. He is not heroic at all - hardly ever saves the day - appears to be somewhat weak in dealing with his family and is nothing to swoon over. In fact, I don't like him. Candra leans that she is a werewolf and part of a family Rome-Juliet type feud with Benjamin's family. Hoping to get the families to reconcile, she tries to convince Ben to help her end the fight. It doesn't work out as planned and she loses the weak willed Ben as a boyfriend. Additionally, she is being accosted in her dreams by a man that wants to kill her and appears to be magically controlled by her enemies.

The story ends without a conclusion indicating more books to carry on this developing story. I feel that this story was a little to repetitive of facts that were already revealed making it longer than necessary. I don't feel curious enough to see what happens,especially if Candra ends up with the weak werewolf, Ben. This would be a good story for the younger YA's as there is no inappropriate sexual behavior and the plot is uncomplicated.

I love this story so far! Took a long time for her 18th bday to get here. I can't wait to find out what happens, a lot of action in this book and I liked it! I like this author's mind and I can picture myself in this story watching it all unfold! kudos. If you like magis and werewolves then you'll like this story. Have a feeling the second one os gonna better. -)
